Ever get a testimonial from a client and it’s nowhere near as good as what their actual story is?

If so, you’re not alone.

The majority of biz owners experience this.

And I’ve had a number of them ask me…

“Why don’t clients share their real story in testimonials?”

Normally, if they’re talking to you privately it’s this incredible, emotional, and passionate story.

But when it’s time to capture that same story and interview them on video…

It’s… meh.

Many times the video isn’t even usable. But you still use it because you don’t want to upset your client.

There are a few reasons for this.

Two big reasons are shared in the video above but there is another reason not included in the video.

Wanna know what it is?

It’s usually because you or their trainer are doing the interviewing and you are…too close to them.

I don’t mean physically close.

I mean, you’re too closely connected to them.

It’s kinda like asking them to tell you how cool you are to your face. It’s weird, it’s awkward, and anytime that happens…they rarely ever open up.

So if you’re collecting testimonial videos of clients where you are interviewing them…

You definitely want to consider having someone who is not connected to them do the interview.

But not just any random person.

It should be someone who knows how to…

Connect with people, asks good questions, and can dig for the emotions they’re not sharing.

Because even if they’re really good at this…

It’s still challenging to get the clients to truly open up because of the other two reasons mentioned in the video above.

But it can be done.

You just have to overcome these hurdles.

Oh, and one last thing…If you’re just asking clients to record their own testimonial videos and send them to you…

The chances are even lower that they’ll send you their real emotional passionate story.

So it’s always better to have them interviewed.

And if you want someone to do that interview for you then click here.

As I always say jokingly…

My goal is to make people cry on video…

In a good way of course.

And that’s what I try to do when interviewing your clients. Because any time you can get someone to cry…

It is pure GOLD.

Either way, if you’re going to handle your testimonials and want to know why your clients don’t share their real stories in testimonials…

Make sure that you’re overcoming the other two hurdles mentioned in the video above.
