People think of testimonial videos as “boring.”
And get this…
About 10 years ago, I did a testimonial video for a client.
And I’m not joking when I say this…
He checked the numbers and his testimonial video helped him generate over a million dollars in sales.
When I mentioned it was time to do another one…
He said no.
I asked him why and he said…
“Because it’s boring, and people don’t watch it.”
“It helped you bring in over 7-figures, so it’s obviously working, and people are watching it.”
But he didn’t care.
He felt it was boring to watch, so he didn’t want another one.
This really made me test, and shift the testimonial model to make them more effective, and get people to watch them.
A quick side note…
What you think about a testimonial video is completely different from what a prospect thinks.
Testimonial videos done the right way will attract the right people and repel the wrong people.
And in this case with my client…
It worked perfectly. It attracted his ideal prospects and pushed people like him away.
So even if he felt the testimonial video was boring, it wasn’t to his prospects.
But it just goes to show you…
Getting people to watch a testimonial video and shift their mindset around them as not being boring, can be a challenge.
